A Grand Rapids Animal Hospital
Because of the shorter lifespan of our pets, we stress the importance of an annual physical examination. Thorough check-ups and preventive care can help alleviate serious health problems. We offer a wide range of veterinary services to keep your companions feeling their best:
Paw Plans: Annual wellness plans for your canine and feline friends. Our annual wellness plans will help you provide your pet with a comprehensive level of preventative care. Adopting a plan early on, you have the opportunity to eliminate or minimize the possibility of potential health risks to your pet. Regardless of your companion's age, taking advantage of our preventative care plan will assist you with early detection and treatment. The plan was developed for your companion to receive a broad range of services at an exceptional value to you. We will work together to give you companion the best care at an affordable cost.
Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services: Our hospital is equipped to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to care for your pets' complete health care needs.
Surgical Services: Our state-of-the-art surgical suite provides for the performance of a wide variety of surgical procedures. Spays and neuters, complicated orthopedic procedures and abdominal, chest and other soft tissue surgeries are available. For our large animal patients, some surgeries can be done at the owner's farm.
Anesthesia: We utilize the safest available anesthetics to provide an extra margin of safety, especially for our older or high-risk patients. All patients are carefully screened and anesthetics are specifically tailored to your pet. Using the most modern equipment, the patient's vital signs are monitored during all anesthetic procedures.
Lasers: Lasers are a minimally invasive alternative to traditional surgery. Lasers replace scalpels in many procedures and are useful for a wide range of conditions, such as cyst, tumor and wart removal. Laser procedures result in less pain, less bleeding and less swelling. This makes them particularly useful in declawing. Lasers also reduce the risk of infection and result in less post-operative discomfort.
Radiology Services: Our on-site, modern digital X-ray equipment provides high quality radiographs to aid in the quick diagnosis of many disorders. Radiographs help our veterinarians evaluate muscular-skeletal, cardiovascular (cardiopulmonary), gastrointestinal, reproductive and urinary systems.
Ultrasound: This non-invasive, state-of-the-art technology uses sound waves to painlessly examine specific internal organs, primarily the heart and abdominal organs. Pregnancy exams are also available.
Internal Medicine: We cover all areas of internal medicine including: Cardiology; Ophthalmology; Neurology; Dermatology; Gastroenterology; Endocrinology; among others.
Dentistry: Our dental services include teeth cleaning and polishing, digital dental X-rays, tooth extractions and minor oral surgery. Regular professional cleaning is important to maintaining your pet's teeth. We use modern and safe techniques to clean each tooth thoroughly--above and below the gum line.
Laboratory: Our in-house laboratory facilities provide for serum chemistry, hematology, serology, urinalysis and parasite testing. We also utilize outside veterinary laboratories for specialized diagnostics and consultations.
Pharmacy: We maintain a complete inventory of pharmaceuticals, vitamins, shampoos, flea and tick control products and heartworm preventatives to meet the needs of your pet. We also carry a full line of prescription diets.
Permanent identification: Microchips have helped reunite thousands of pets with their families. We offer the most widely used microchip products to increase the chances of a return home.
Immunization and Wellness Care: We strive to prevent illness whenever possible. The time and effort invested in Wellness programs has rewards for both pets and owners. Our Wellness programs are designed specifically for your pet and include: comprehensive physical exam; internal parasite testing; heartworm and flea control; vaccination program; spay and neuter package; and specialized blood tests for all life stages.
Pain Management: Veterinary patients feel pain and discomfort under the same circumstances as people do. We know that recognizing and alleviating pain in animals is the essence of good patient care.
Hospice/Euthanasia Services: Saying goodbye to a long-time friend is painful. We work with clients to ensure their pet's comfort and dignity. Services include taking care of the remains as directed by the client.
